Who is responsible for the data and why this site exists

This site belongs to me, Max Emelianenko. I use it to find permanent and project work, explain my experience, and discuss opportunities with potential clients and employers.

What data is used and why

When you open a page, Cloudflare processes technical data needed to deliver and protect the site, such as an IP address, request date and time, requested page, referrer if the browser provides one, and browser and device information. I use this data to operate, secure, and diagnose the site.

Separately, I count where visits to the site come from. I use only the landing page address without query parameters, short utm_source and utm_campaign tags if present, or the previous site’s domain if the browser sends it. An unknown source is counted separately. I do not record an IP address, full URL, message content, or visitor identifier in this dataset, and I do not link an entry to an individual’s subsequent actions. The data is stored in Cloudflare Workers Analytics Engine for three months. These are entries, not unique visitors.

If you write by email, Telegram, or WhatsApp, I receive the contact details, text, and files you choose to send. I use them to reply, discuss a project or proposed role, agree on an engagement, and carry it out. Correspondence is stored in Gmail and the messenger you selected. I may save the contact in my address book and record key details about the enquiry and our communication in a CRM that I maintain myself so that I do not lose context or commitments.

If you allow analytics, GA4 helps me understand where visitors come from, which pages they open, and how they interact with the site. If you separately allow advertising measurement, Meta Pixel helps measure advertising and build advertising audiences. Analytics events do not contain message contents, email addresses, phone numbers, or messenger usernames. A service’s script does not load until the relevant consent is given.

Legal bases

The legal basis depends on the situation:

your request, steps before a possible contract, and performance of our agreement — when we discuss a project or role or already work together
my legitimate interests — when I operate and secure the site, count aggregate entry sources, reply to enquiries, and protect my legal rights, provided this does not override your rights and interests
your consent — for GA4 analytics and, separately, for advertising measurement with Meta Pixel
a legal obligation — where particular data must be retained or disclosed

Who may receive the data

I do not sell personal data. It may be processed only by services needed to operate the site, communicate, and keep track of enquiries:

Message contents and contact details are not included in analytics event parameters. Clicking a contact link does not mean that an enquiry was made.

How long enquiries are kept

I keep correspondence, contacts, and related CRM records for as long as they are needed to reply, discuss the matter, and manage our work together. Once a year, I review old enquiries and delete data that is no longer needed for these purposes.

If data stops being needed sooner, it may be deleted sooner: the annual review is an additional check, not a minimum retention period.

Individual messages and documents may be kept longer where this is required by law or necessary to protect legal claims.

You can request deletion of your data by email at maxemelyanenko@gmail.com. If some data must be retained, I will explain why.

GA4 event and user data retention is set to 14 months. Meta’s privacy policy describes how long Meta retains data.

Your rights

To the extent provided by applicable law, you may ask to access, correct, or delete your data, restrict its processing, receive a portable copy, or object to processing. You may withdraw analytics or advertising-measurement consent at any time. You may also complain to the competent data protection authority. Email me with any request; no separate form is required.

Data handled across countries

Cloudflare, Google, Telegram, and Meta companies, including WhatsApp, operate across countries. Using the site or your chosen contact channel may therefore involve data being handled outside the country where you are located. Each service’s privacy policy, linked above, explains how that service handles data.

Browser settings and consent

Your theme, language, and consent choices are stored in your browser’s localStorage. Referral tags are stored in sessionStorage only after GA4 consent. GA4 and Meta Pixel are off by default; each can be allowed or declined separately. If you decline GA4, the site stores a cookie for one year containing only your choice not to count future entry sources. A browser GPC or Do Not Track signal also stops this count. Declining does not restrict the site. After withdrawal, the site stops sending new events to the relevant service and attempts to remove its cookies that the site can access. Data already received by a service is not deleted automatically.
